Years later, Riya grew to be a keeper of both worlds in a new way: she taught children to draw maps of their family stories, to sing names aloud at dusk, and to record hurt as well as joy. The Vikshep remained a lesson — a shadow that could always return if people chose forgetfulness over remembrance — but the kingdom now had more guardians than before. Stories were once again its true currency, and Riya understood at last that some doors are secret so that what passes through them can come back changed, wiser, and willing to tell the tale.

The story centers on (Sam Everingham), a young boy struggling with anxiety after moving into a strange, old house. His younger sister, Verity (Alyla Browne), is much braver. While exploring the dusty attic, Verity finds a peculiar mechanical box—a "Verity Box"—that creates miniature worlds based on one’s thoughts.
