Break free from CSS prefix hell!

Only 2KB gzipped Fork me on GitHub

-prefix-free lets you use only unprefixed CSS properties everywhere. It works behind the scenes, adding the current browser’s prefix to any CSS code, only when it’s needed.

“[-prefix-free is] fantastic, top-notch work! Thank you for creating and sharing it.”

Check this page’s stylesheet ;-)

You can also visit the Test Drive page, type in any code you want and check out how it would get prefixed for the current browser.

Just include prefixfree.js anywhere in your page. It is recommended to put it right after the stylesheets, to minimize FOUC

That’s it, you’re done!

The target browser support is IE9+, Opera 10+, Firefox 3.5+, Safari 4+ and Chrome on desktop and Mobile Safari, Android browser, Chrome and Opera Mobile on mobile.

If it doesn’t work in any of those, it’s a bug so please report it. Just before you do, please make sure that it’s not because the browser doesn’t support a CSS3 feature at all, even with a prefix.

In older browsers like IE8, nothing will break, just properties won’t get prefixed. Which wouldn’t be useful anyway as IE8 doesn’t support much CSS3 ;)

Test the prefixing that -prefix-free would do for this browser, by writing some CSS below:

Bad romance: "He was hot, so she fell for him." Good romance: "He was the only one who noticed she was faking her confidence, because he himself was a master of disguise."

This is the compression standard (codec) used to bridge the gap between high quality and low storage space, making it the most common format for web-based video sharing. Critical Reception and Style

The keyword string looks like a typical file naming convention used on torrent sites and file-sharing platforms like KatmovieHD. It refers to the 2016 film Paranormal Experiments (also known by its original title, The Unfolding ), specifically in 720p resolution using the x264 codec.

The story centers on a specific case study that goes horribly wrong. What starts as a series of controlled tests—EVP recordings, thermal imaging, and telekinesis trials—quickly spirals into a violent confrontation with an entity that doesn't want to be measured by science. What Works: The Atmosphere of Dread The film’s greatest strength is its 720p gritty aesthetic

Often carries indie titles for rent or through "channel" add-ons like Shudder.
