Before landing her iconic role, Rapace studied at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm and worked in various stage productions. Her breakthrough came when she was cast as Lisbeth Salander in the 2009 Swedish film adaptation of Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel.
