In a bold stroke of color-blind casting, Gyasi inhabits the role of the Greeks' greatest warrior not as a braggart, but as a terrifying, enigmatic force of nature. His Achilles is detached, cynical, and otherworldly—a man who knows he is a weapon rather than a human being.
