Survivor stories offer a human face to abstract statistics, transforming data into lived experience. Yet, their use raises critical questions: Do these stories truly empower survivors and audiences, or do they risk voyeurism and oversimplification? This paper explores the mechanisms, benefits, and ethical challenges of using survivor stories in awareness campaigns, providing a framework for responsible practice.
